Range View, a public-private partnership between Saguache County and Northwest Real Estate Capital Corp. (Northwest), will celebrate its ribbon cutting on September 17th at 1:00 PM, which is open to the public. Upon completion, Range View will offer 32 new units with affordable rents for individuals and families. Colorado Housing and Finance Authority (CHFA) awarded $1,340,823 in LIHTC and $700,000 in state tax credits to support the development. “CHFA is honored to have played a role in supporting the development of Range View,” said Thomas Bryan, Executive Director and CEO of Colorado Housing and Finance Authority. “These new homes will expand affordable housing opportunities in Saguache and help ensure that individuals and families can live close to the jobs, schools, and services they rely on every day.” Range View is situated on land owned by Saguache County Housing Authority, which is 4 blocks from Mountain Valley School and near the Saguache Downtown Historic District as well as other local amenities. Range View also offers a Resident Services Plan developed by Northwest’s Stepping Stones program. These free services will be based on the residents’ unique needs and facilitated through partnerships with community-based organizations. “Range View represents what is possible when a community has a vision and partners come together to make it happen. These 32 homes are more than affordable housing—they are stability, opportunity and a place to belong for individuals and families who qualify and want to live and work in Saguache. We are incredibly proud to see this long-held vision open its doors. We want to thank everyone involved, including Evan Samora for his early leadership on this project.” Range View will help meet a great need for affordable rental housing in Saguache. Currently, the only other affordable housing properties in Saguache have zero vacancies. Range View will offer one-, two-, and three-bedroom housing units for households with incomes at 30 to 60 percent of the Area Median Income, which in Saguache County, currently ranges from $23,400 to $46,800 in annual gross income for a two-person household. “Range View is the result of the strong partnership with CHFA, Saguache County, and the Saguache County Housing Authority. Affordable housing is vitally important to the health of every community, and we are proud to offer this new housing opportunity in Saguache,” said John Vance, Vice President Development Group at Northwest. Range View opened its doors on August 31st and is actively working to lease its remaining units. For information about eligibility, please contact Range View at (719) 849-5756 or rangeview@nwrecc.org.
