As the Saguache County primary draws near, please consider the caliber of leadership you expect from your elected officials, and vote Adam Kinney for commissioner, District 1.
You deserve to be invited to participate in the decision-making process.
You deserve to be informed. Most importantly, you deserve to be heard, listened to, and have your voice be considered. There is no greater priority for your elected officials than to remember that the people of Saguache County are the governing force through which all decisions, actions and considerations must move.
Every day, I am learning more about the challenges we face as a county. Budget adherence, water, waste management and re-use, resource preservation, youth and senior advocacy, and especially, planning for an unknown future.
Every day I am becoming more equipped to meet the challenge head on, because I am taking the time to listen to the people who are most affected by any given issue.
I will not make false promises, but I can give you my word, I will continue listening and learning every day for as long as I have the honor of serving. I will always ask myself how I can do better tomorrow.
I will make myself accessible and available to hear your concerns and ideas for the duration of my service.No doubt, I will make mistakes. Then I will look to my community to inform me, and I will course correct.
I am 47 years old, and I am intimately aware of the challenges that young families are facing here today. Raising healthy children, putting food on the table, honoring the old ways while adjusting to an onslaught of changes. This perspective is invaluable for us to prepare for the future in Saguache County.
Lastly, my experience serving on the municipal level has more than prepared me for the logistical, fiscal and procedural aspects of the job. I hit the ground running the day I decided to campaign for county commissioner and I won’t quit until my time is up.
I will give this everything I’ve got, and you will know that your voice matters.
