Crestone Energy Fair

August 27, 2022

Reclaim:  Self, Village, Nature . . . the 33rd annual Crestone Energy Fair will be held back in the Town of Crestone on August 27 & 28.  Thank you to everyone who supported our move to private land the last two years due to COVID.  We are excited to partner with the Town and thank the Saguache County Commissioners for a Sales Tax Grant and the Town Board of Trustees for their support to make this our biggest event yet!

The Energy Fair is a celebration of the people who strive to live in harmony with themselves, each other and nature.  The event features presentations, workshops, building & energy technology demonstrations, music and entertainment. As always, local and regional art & craft vendors, a food court, community kitchen and Rainbow Lightning Youth Village will support a family-friendly weekend.

We are working with Asia Dorsey and Naveed Heydari of Regenerate Change to bring a more immersive experience and interaction with our theme to all of our attendees.

Energy movement practices and healing modalities such as yoga, tai chi, meditation and massage have always been part of the action, so we will expand that presence this year with a Healer’s Village located in Creekside Park. Peter May will join us with his Sonic Apothecary and we are looking for a healer or health practitioner who would like to join our crew to help with organizing presenters and vendors for this new aspect of the weekend.

The Home Tours are one of the most important components of the fair as it gives homeowners and builders an opportunity to learn about natural building methods, energy-efficient & off-grid systems, and to see under-construction and completed homes.  We are doubling the number of tours this year by running two each day to accommodate the increased interest. Saturday night’s music headliner will feature The River Arkansas, a local band that delivers a mixture of heartfelt country, blues, folk, and Americana, inspired by the Arkansas River.  Mike Wird will return to teach Living Your Dream Life and will perform with his full band as well as DJ Godtis and Max Ribner Band.  Green Guru will host our building panel with Rocky Mountain Hemp Build and we will introduce a new health panel and the alternative energy panel.

We need your support to cover all of our expenses for creating such a large production!  We are looking for like-minded businesses and individuals who would like to join our team as Sponsors.  General donations are encouraged to keep this event free to all attendees, but we are also looking for Sponsors who want to support specific areas of the event.  Please visit our website for a complete package and promotional benefits that you will receive by joining our team.  We also need help in several positions:  Accountant, Administrative Assistant, Volunteer Coordinator and an Advisory Board to assist with our non-profit governance and financial structures.  Packets for sponsors, vendors and presenters are available on our website www.crestoneenergyfair.com under “Join Us” or you can email us at crestoneenergyfair@gmail.com.
