Kinney for commissioner

Editor’s note: The primary election is June 25. The Eagle will post results to The Crestone Eagle website as soon as they are available. This is the last set of endorsements received by press time presented in alternating endorsements.

As a resident of Saguache County, I fully support Adam Kinney in his campaign for county commissioner. It is very important to me that our commissioners honor the position as being the mouthpiece of the citizens, and that they don’t let their own personal agenda get in the way of how they operate, vote, etc. In conversations with Adam, I have found him to be very open-minded and interested in listening to my concerns, ideas and dreams for the future of our county. I appreciate his level headed approach to conflict. I admire his commitment to progress and working with the changes of our times and how to incorporate those changes into local government.

I admire Adam’s goal of getting more of his peers involved in the issues that we are facing as a county and that he is taking it upon himself to be the change he wants to see. Adam inspires  me  to consider the role I play in my community and how I can make a difference myself. I am 35 and never really felt like I had a voice in government until I moved to Saguache County.

Here, the efforts I put into local policy issues have been fruitful, which is a great feeling, however, it has always been up to me and other residents to bring issues up with the county. Adam’s mission to bring awareness of issues to us, the citizens of Saguache, is a major reason that I support him in this role. I trust that if appointed commissioner, Adam will continue to be accessible to all residents and open to discussion of all topics and how to address them.

Signed,

Goldie Mariola
