Dear Editor,
Choose Adam Kinney to represent Crestone and Baca, Saguache County Commissioner District 1.
Adam Kinney encourages young people to engage in our governance and political process. At the county Democratic assembly, he received 30 of the 50 delegates from both young and older citizens. They deserve a chance to build the future they want to live in. As a Crestone resident, Adam serves in local governance and has for many years. This experience as a Trustee will serve him well as a county commissioner; essentially the same job, different title. Saguache County needs leadership equipped to make financially feasible decisions in the best interest of the county. Financial stability is a prerequisite for improving services and for effectively protecting our water and quality of life in Saguache County. Keeping lines of communication open. When it comes to the often-divisive issues our community faces, he shows a commitment to listen to people and seeks to understand the concerns of different constituencies.
Adam understands the importance of local community input when it comes to decisions impacting Crestone and Baca. He has the courage to be involved in his community and to continue that involvement as our county faces inevitable changes — environmentally, economically and needs of a growing population.
Adam Kinney will bring diversity to the Saguache County board of commissioners. His 20-plus year history living in our community is balanced with an understanding of what people need to thrive in Saguache County.
