Curtis Leroy Ward, 1942-2023

As I’ve enjoyed the “On the Shoulders Of…” articles recently in The Crestone Eagle, I’ve often thought, “If Curt (and of course his wife, Bernadette) were here, they’d be writing about him.”  Curt moved to the Baca with his wife and four children in 1982 from Sedona, Arizona. Leslie Fairbanks Kane, 1953-2023

Leslie Fairbanks Kane was born March 19, 1953 in Lewiston, Maine, to John Swetland Kane and Elizabeth Joslin Kane.  Leslie passed away unexpectedly on Dec. 1, 2023 in Denver, Colorado.  Always ready for adventure, and a lover of nature, she spent her childhood floating the Saco River, climbing the White Mountains of New Hampshire, swimming in Kezar Lake, picking raspberries at her dad’s home patch, and soaking up the sun on the sandy coastal beaches of Maine.
