Gofundme campaigns help wolf rescue and owner of Moffat home

Wolf rescue needs community help

Charlene Wolf, of Crone Wolf Medicine, has started a gofundme to help with her expenses of running the wolf rescue, outside of Saguache. From the gofundme page:

“I would like to thank everyone who has been donating to Crone Wolf Medicine. We have reached $645.00 of our $4500.00 goal and this has helped with dog food, kept the generator that runs the well pump running for their water filled with gas, and a vet visit. We still have 3 spays and 6 neuters left out of the 32 Wolf Dogs here so we are steadily moving toward our goal of 100%. We also need to build 6 more dog houses as they are very hard on them and are always in need of repair or rebuilding and we need to construct new wind guards around a few of the pens. Your generosity touches me deeply and fills my heart with gratitude!

ScSEED board member loses home to fire

On Wednesday, March 20th, ScSEED Board Secretary Melinda Myers experienced a tragedy when her historic home in Moffat was engulfed in fire. Fortunately, Melinda was unharmed, but her home and a lifetime of memories and possessions were completely lost. Please join us as a community to help Melinda with a donation of whatever you can. No other details on the fire were provided by the Moffat Fire Department.

A gofundme organized by Saguache County Commissioner Liza Marron has raised about $5,000 as of press time. From the gofundme page:

“Hi, this is Liza Marron one of Melinda Myers many friends. On Wednesday evening, a fire started on the back porch of Melinda’s historic home in Moffat where she has lived for the last 30 years. Tragically the home burnt to the ground with all of Melinda’s possessions. She was able to get out in her stocking feet with no time to grab personal possessions, purse or anything else and all was lost including three beloved cats. All other animals including her best friends KarLee, Max, and Duece are fine.”
