Spring 2024 CCS Eagle staff

The CCS Eaglet staff for the spring semester poses with previous copies of The Crestone Eagle newspaper. The CCS Eaglet started in the fall 2023 semester. Their mentor, Matt Lit, is managing editor for The Crestone Eagle and started mentoring at the Crestone Charter School in 2023. 

“When I became managing editor and decided to continue teaching as a mentor, having my students start their own newspaper was an easy decision,” said Lit. “This is giving the kids a chance to have a real voice in the community and learn fact-based, sourced journalism practices.
