Award-Winning Cinematographer/Photographer Steven G. Smith Embarks on a Mission to Illuminate Human Rights Through Compelling Short FilmsĀ

Steven G. Smith, an acclaimed cinematographer and storyteller, will be working out of Southern Colorado for the year and is set to embark on a groundbreaking series of short ļ¬lms to raise awareness about crucial human rights issues. Smith is a skilled ļ¬lmmaker who emphasizes storytelling through his sensitive approach to subjects.

The upcoming series of short ļ¬lms, crafted by Smith, will delve into the heart of human rights concerns, endeavoring to humanize these issues by focusing on the personal stories of individuals. One of the pivotal themes he explores is religious liberty, shedding light on the signiļ¬cance of an individual’s or a community’s freedom to practice their religion or beliefs openly or privately through teaching, worship, and observance.

Smith aims to promote understanding and empathy while spotlighting our shared humanity. The projects are designed to challenge the divisive tribalism that currently plagues our culture. Recognizing the unique religious diversity in the Crestone area, Smith aims to create a compelling story about an individual and their daily quest for purpose in this world. Possible subjects include a monk, nun, or others pursuing enlightenment. From a monk’s quiet meditation to a nun’s devout practices, these individuals offer a unique perspective on the pursuit of truth and self-discovery.

Individuals deeply committed to a mission or life’s work are sought after as potential subjects for these transformative projects. Smith encourages those interested in contributing to stories of religious tolerance and understanding to reach out and join him on this enlightening journey.

“I believe that individuals deeply committed to a mission or life’s work can make excellent subjects for my projects,” says Smith. “These ļ¬lms aim to bring insight and understanding to religious diversity, fostering a greater sense of unity and shared humanity.”

Preliminary interviews for potential subjects are scheduled for December, and Steve G. Smith invites anyone interested in participating to contact him for more information.
