Retiring

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

This email is to let you know that I have retired from the SLV Local Foods Coalition as of 12.31.23. It is bittersweet to leave this beautiful organization doing important work to foster an equitable local food system in our Valley.

I am so thankful to all the many players who have taken us from a dream over a decade ago to the current reality — a vibrant community farm, an aggregation and distribution food hub bringing the food from the farm gate to the plate, teaching people to cook healthily and locally on a budget and creating a community food and agricultural assessment and strategic plan to take us into the future — led by the community voice.

I leave with peace of mind and heart knowing that the SLVLFC is in the good hands of Max Gibson, Jerald Montoya, Cassandra Cordova, Jesus Flores, Jae Sanders, Nick Chambers with Al Stone and Maria Kalahalios, Meg Mercier and the rest of the amazing team, along with our governing board led by Alice Price, with Tim Yoder, Shirley Atencio, Ben Valdez, Meghan Stalzer, Reilley Nystrom and Meagan Smith.

It has been an honor to serve.

Peace, Love and Smiles
